Who we need
Reporting to the Quality Manager, we are looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to be a part of our team in Toronto. You will ensure the quality of our merchandise by providing technical support, corrective actions and recommendations during manufacturing in relation to customer needs. This is an exciting opportunity to grow your career in quality assurance in a supportive environment at a global company.
What our new Quality Assurance Technician will do:
- Perform inspections. You will regularly inspect products, packaging and processes to ensure the manufacture of quality items and adherence to QMS policies and standards. You will make recommendations to improve merchandise quality and production efficiency based on your inspection findings. You will also check incoming materials and products from external vendors as required.
- Conduct product testing. You will routinely select merchandise for testing at specified stages of the production cycle. Your audit will evaluate elements such as item dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics, validating their accuracy to master samples and drawings. You will also sign off on samples, approving them based on customer expectations, fit and function and manufacturability.
- Compile quality data and reports. You will collect and analyze data on various products and processes. You will use this information to examine products, determining their quality and reliability. Additionally, you will prepare regular quality reports to inform on the progress of production.
The skills you bring:
- The education and experience. You have a college or university program certificate, and at least 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- The technical skills. You have a working understanding of computer programs such as MS Office, Excel, and Teams and are open to learning to navigate ERP systems. You can read and interpret technical drawings and can apply mathematical concepts to measurement and evaluation.
- The collaboration skills. You are a team player who is ready to jump in and lend a hand, and you thrive in an environment where you work with others to achieve company-wide goals.
- The communication skills. You can relay information to others in a way that is easy to understand through speech or in writing. You can present with confidence to one person or a group with ease.
