Who we need
If you are looking for a role with measurable influence and impact on student success, with the opportunity to affect change at the campus and national level, join us as a Campus Registrar in Toronto. Reporting to the Director Student and Registrarial Services and working in partnership with the National Registrar, you will lead the day-to-day registrar functions and contribute to our information system and policies at the national level.
This is a rewarding role on multiple levels, with the ability to channel macro system improvement thinking to make a micro-level impact on the registrar services and ultimately on the lives and experiences of our students. You will be responsible for the overall leadership and direction of all activities related to the admission of students into Ontario programs, the management of student enrollment and records, as well as academic policies and procedures to support student progression and success.

What you will do:
- Develop and oversee procedures. You will design, draft, and implement University policies related to admissions, enrollment, the transfer of academic credits, student progression and completion as they apply to the programs at the campus levels, including General Education.
- Oversee the admissions cycles from a student records perspective. You will ensure that admission and progression standards and policies are adhered to for all Ontario programs, ensuring their effectiveness and identifying procedures that need improvement.
- Team management. You will work side-by-side with the team, creating a plan for further specializing duties. You will step in and assist with day-to-day processes during times of high volume, staffing shortages, or vacation. You will act as an escalation point, troubleshooting student and regulatory issues.
- Act as the principal liaison. You will ensure effective and timely communication between the Registrar's Office, the Admissions Department, and the Faculty Admissions Committees, providing guidance and resources related to student enrollment and progression.
- Own data and reporting. You will work with our Student Information System to regularly access, update, optimize, and report on data. You will be accountable for internal departmental audits to validate the integrity of data and policy adherence; implement plans to address any audit deficiencies as needed. You will be responsible for campus program forecasting and scheduling of Ontario programs, including General Education. You will compile data and prepare reports and analyses required for regulatory compliance, university planning, and quality assurance for the Regulatory & Government Affairs Department.
- Collaborate. You will work with the National Registrar on initiatives impacting student enrollment and progression. You will be a key member of the Graduation Committee and convocation exercises.
What you bring:
- The academic background. You have an advanced degree (minimum masters level) and 5+ years of experience in a higher education environment supporting strategic initiatives that promote student success. Ideally, you have 3+ years in team leadership or management. You have knowledge of and insights into the student registrarial life cycle and a strong understanding of regulatory requirements pertaining to international students and ministry reporting requirements.
- The passion. You are deeply committed to student success and take a customer service approach to oversee and deliver an outstanding registrar experience, streamlining processes and procedures they need to navigate.
- The analytical and technical skills. You have experience using technology for records, registration, and reporting. You have a demonstrated ability to conduct high-quality, data-driven analysis of admissions and student success issues in higher education.
- The insights. You are a thought-leader and administrator who appreciates and understands the demand for unique academic offerings that place the learner experience at front and centre. You understand the complexity of a higher-learning environment and best practices in policies and procedures. You have demonstrable leadership in strategic planning and have worked with internal and external executive leadership to align organizational and program goals, requirements, and expectations.
- The leadership skills. You can influence without authority - and with it - build trusting relationships with peers and students. You have exceptional communication skills and a proven ability to perform effectively in the team-based collegial culture with Deans, senior academic administrators, faculty, and administrative staff. You can manage, mentor, and grow a team of specialists.
