Agilus is recruiting for an EHS and Quality Specialist in the Manufacturing in Kingston, Ontario.
This position is responsible for the implementation of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and the Quality Program at the facility. You will be in constant contact with operations personnel to implement necessary schedules, projects, and policies. You will:

  • Ensure the implementation of our EHS Program and respective policies
  • Train and educate personnel on ways to work safely and productively by minimizing risk or loss
  • Periodic quality control audits
  • Be proactive and take the initiative to identify and solve safety concerns, while maintaining safety and environmental records
  • Work well with all levels of employees from entry level to senior management
  • Perform daily, monthly and annual EHS inspections accompany provincial, federal and local inspectors from various agencies
  • Have the opportunity to support other facilities and corporate/nationwide greenfield EHS projects

The successful candidate brings:
  • A can-do, boots on the ground attitude willing to do the work
  • BS in Safety/ Science/Chemical Engineering and 2 years manufacturing experience is preferred or GED with 10 years safety, Quality or related experience.
  • Canadian registered safety professional
  • Chemical Manufacturing experience and Process safety management (PSM) experience preferred
  • Industrial hygiene experience (mandatory)
  • Experience in managing a Respiratory Protection Program
  • Powered Industrial Truck Safety Management (mandatory)
  • An understanding of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standard, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) standards, CSA and MOE standards (mandatory)
