Our client, a reputable Civil Engineering firm is currently hiring two Articling OLS students who can work out of any of their 4 locations ie. London, Kitchener, Stratford or Burlington, ON. There is an option to work out of their Toronto location based on management. If you are currently working as an Articling OLS student at a Civil Engineering firm and have 3+ years of experience with a strong background in surveying and land development. Our client is interested in speaking with you to see if this role will be a good fit for your career Responsibilities:
- Working closely with a team of surveyors, engineers and technologists to deliver land survey and engineering projects including Reference Plans, Subdivision Plans, Plans of Condominium, Surveyor's Real Property Reports, and other Plans of Survey
- Report directly to the Manager of Legal Surveys, while providing updates on each land development project
- Researching project-related background information, Land Registry Office Title searching and contacting appropriate reviewing agencies where required
- Participate in the preparation of proposals, reviewing engineering drawings
- Reviewing topographical sketches, reference plans, subdivision plans to identify any discrepancies
- Travelling to site visits to review requirements for each project
- 3+ years of experience working as an Articling OLS student within a Civil Engineering firm that specializes in Surveying and Subdivision plans
- Strong knowledge of surveying and engineering principles and design standards
- Technical report writing skills, as well as written and verbal communication
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil3D software and has experience with legal surveying, reference plans, subdivision and condominium plans
- Access to a vehicle for work related travel is required. Majority of the visits will be across Southwestern Ontario and the remainder will be in the Waterloo region, Stratford and London areas
